Daycare drop-off guilt
But our first day date in years
Was surely worth it

She empties store shelves
Faster than I can fix them
Dollar Tree war zone

Much needed day off
Spent organizing the house
Which still isn't clean

Watching my baby
Brave the rides like a big girl
I longed to freeze time

Anyone who thinks
Winter Break is for the kids
Must not know teachers

Despite the cold air
And the whistling winter winds
Ice cream is my friend

Sick babe is sleeping
Husband is at the office
Not used to silence
